MMA stands for Methyl Methacrylate and is illegal for nail use, MMA acrylic is used in bone and dental procedures. Due to its smaller molecular size, it’s a stronger acrylic, but can cause serious damage to your natural nails and your overall health since its intended use is not for nails. The proper nail acrylic liquid is EMA, or Ethyl Methacrylate, and is the appropriate product to use for nail enhancements. Shops often try to cut corners and use MMA instead of EMA because of its lower price point. The only way to tell the difference in products is by soaking it off, MMA does not soak off so it gets slimy, EMA flakes right off.
